How a narrow challenge paved new paths
The history of HPT Hirsch Prüftechnik GmbH traces back to the tight confines of a submarine. From 1980 to 1989, Dr. Peter Hirsch worked in research and development for submarine construction. In this environment, limited space and hard-to-reach areas posed significant challenges, particularly when testing the extensive weld seams.
This experience inspired him to develop the MT test using direct current pulses—a technology that seamlessly combines precision and mobility.
In 2006, this groundbreaking innovation received the Rhineland-Palatinate Inventor Prize. In 2010, Henry Hirsch joined the company, bringing a fresh perspective and forward-thinking ideas to carry on his father's vision. Today, together, they are driving the future of testing and demagnetization technology—with passion, innovation, and a legacy that began deep beneath the ocean’s surface.
